credit insurance
A policy of insurance which protects the insured against loss resulting from the insolvency or inability of his customers to pay their accounts. Such policies usually provide that the insured shall bear an initial loss of an agreed upon amount before the insurer's liability shall attach. 29A Am J Rev ed Ins § 1367.
