The lien of a carrier upon the goods in a shipment for the charges of transportation and such storage charges as it may be entitled to collect. 13 Am J2d Car § 497. The lien of a carrier by water upon the cargo for freight and all lawful charges, whether the vessel is operated under charter of affreightment or a general ship. 48 Am J1st Ship § 436.
