Indicating absence from the state or residence outside the state, dependent upon the context of the entire statute or instrument. A debtor is not "without the state," within the meaning of a statute of limitations, where, being a citizen of, domiciled, and resident within the state, with his family, he temporarily for business pur poses, goes to another state and remains there for several months at a time on different occasions. Sage v Hawley, 16 Conn 106.
