Virgin Islands of the United States
A number of islands in the chain of islands separating the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean, east of Puerto Rico, the three largest of which are St. Thomas, St. John, and St. Croix, acquired by the United States from Denmark in 1917.
