auctioneer
A person who conducts an auction sale fauctioneerr another on commission or for recompense, and who is deemed primarily the agent of the seller of the property, though for some purposes he is also deemed to be the agent of the purchaser. Upon the fall of the hammer he becomes the agent of the buyer as well as the seller, and from that time to the consummation of the sale he is the agent of both for the purpose of drawing up and signing the memorandum of the transaction which takes the case out of the operation of the statute of frauds. 7 Am J2d Auct § 10.
