subscription to stock
An agreement to subscribe for or take stock to be issued by a corporation. 18 Am J2d Corp § 291. The legislature may prescribe the manner and mode of creation of a subscription contract and declare what shall amount to such a contract or what shall be evidence that the party proposing to take stock has completed the contract on his part. 18 Am J2d Corp § 292.
