A term of court, contra-distinguished from a regular or adjourned term, appointed by the presiding officer or officers, held at an unusual time, for the transaction of some particular business. Wightman v Karsner, 20 Ala 446, 452. In some jurisdictions, a term for the transaction of court business other than jury trials.
