particeps criminis

particeps criminis
A party to the crime. One who participated in some manner in the commission of a crime. The term, which, in common acceptation, means an act that may be visited by an indictment, or other criminal prosecution, applies also to other transactions contrary to good morals, whether they be immoral per se, or prohibited by statute under a penalty, or by a simple prohibition, or as militating against the policy of a statute, or fraud, or other corrupt contract. Johnson v Cooper, 10 Tenn (2 Yerg) 524.
