opening a credit
Making an arrangement with a bank for a loan or with a store for a charge account. Coupled with prompt payment of the loan or regular payments upon the charge account, a good method of establishing a credit. To accept or pay the draft of a correspondent who has not furnished the drawee with funds to meet the draft.
