- notice in writing
- Ordinarily a notice given in writing and subscribed by the person giving notice thereby. A written notice may be a sufficient "notice in writing," although it is not signed, provided it purports to come from the person whose duty it is to give the notice. Cohn v Smith, 37 Cal App 764, 174 P 682.
