Verb: To work on by hand; to cultivate; to spread with manure. Noun: Animal excrement applied to the soil to increase fertility. Snow v Perkins, 60 NH 493. Droppings of cattle composted with earth and vegetable matter taken from the land and used to supply the drain made on the soil in the production of crops, which would otherwise become impoverished and barren; sometimes regarded as appurtenant to the real estate. 42 Am J1st Prop § 31.
