An enemy alien confined pursuant to an order issued by the President; for the purposes of a writ of habeas corpus, confined as a prisoner of war. 56 Am J1st War § 68. A status which does not prevent the enforcement of contract rights or the right of the alien to sue in the courts of the country in which he is interned. 56 Am J1st War § 141.
