A contract founded upon a consideration contrary to good morals, against the principles of sound public policy, in fraud, or in contravention of the provisions of some statute. Precisely, an agreement, the intent of which conflicts with a statute, a well-clarified rule of the law set forth by judicial decision, or the recognized rights of others so as to threaten the life, disturb the peace, or endanger the safety or morals of other citizens.
