general educational institution
A common school; a public school. So defined by some authority as to be more mythical than real: -a school with kindergarten, primary, preparatory, and collegiate departments, with courses of instruction in all the elementary and advanced sciences, and ancient and modern languages, and with courses of instruction, in the advanced departments, usual in the colleges of the state.
