distilling
A refinement of a liquid by the process of heating it to the boiling point, collecting the vapor, and cooling the vapor, thereby reducing it to a liquid of greater strength and purity than the original; a process in the manufacture of alcoholic beverages. The application of heat to liquid by which means it is converted into steam and afterward converted into liquid, the steam being run through a coil which is kept cool, either by water or other process, cool enough so as to condense the steam into liquid.
